Three years ago today, the Gradient published its first set of articles. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of working with dozens of exceptional AI researchers and practitioners and sharing their work with hundreds of thousands of readers all across the globe. We’ve been especially proud to provide a platform for authors who would otherwise not have had an outlet to share their creative work.
This all would not have been possible without the generous support of our readers and authors, so we want to begin this by thanking all of you. As a celebration for turning three years old, we also have three exciting announcements about our future:
1 - The 2021 Gradient Prize
We will be awarding $1000 in prizes for the best new article submissions from authors received between June 1 - September 1, 2021. If you’ve ever been itching to write something with the Gradient, now is your chance! More details here.
2 - The Gradient Newsletter and Podcast
The Gradient is launching a new weekly newsletter on Substack: the Update, starting next Saturday. We’ll cover the most interesting developments and papers in AI, along with technical commentary and nuanced analysis by Gradient editors and guest appearances from researchers pushing the forefront of AI. We are also launching the Gradient Podcast, which will go live in two weeks. Expect interviews with AI researchers and practitioners, especially those you would rarely have a chance to hear from other sources. Subscribe here.
3 - New Ways to Support The Gradient
Thus far, the Gradient has been a completely volunteer driven non-profit made possible by the time and effort that our writers and editors put into each piece. If you enjoy our articles, please consider signing up as a supporter on our Substack and/or directly donating to The Gradient and sharing our newsletter with friends! More details here.
